Hello everyone! I would like to introduce you all to VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood. We believe in the fundamental right of every individual to manage his or her fertility. VOX supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; advocates public policies that guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of human sexuality. Our mission is to educate the university community about reproductive health and rights, to translate increased awareness into pro-choice activism on campus, and to serve as a coalition partner to state, national, and international reproductive rights efforts.
We have many events and activist goals here at UCF. For the sake of this post being so long, I will include more information about our past events in a future post. I just wanted to introduce everyone to VOX UCF and what we do and what we wish to accomplish.
We will be having meetings on Mondays at 5pm in Communications 147, as necessary. Please contact us at voxucf@gmail.com for more information and to join the mailing list.
Our next planned event will be to dispense goodie bags in conjunction with Halloween. The bags will contain condoms, educational information, and much more! More details will be coming soon. We will be distributing the bags on October 23-25 outside of the student union. We will be stuffing the bags on October 14 at a member's house. If you are interested in helping with either, please contact us.
